About Sidi Garden

A garden grown by hand, one small harvest at a time

Sidi Garden is a home vegetable and flower garden — no big plan, no perfect rows, just organic growing, close attention, and a lot of gratitude for whatever the beds decide to give.

How it started

What began as a small home vegetable patch has grown into a daily practice. Most mornings start with a walk through the garden before the day gets busy — slowing down, noticing what's changed overnight, and harvesting whatever is ready. Some days that's a handful of okra and a few tomatoes; other days it's a basket so full of sponge gourds and beans it's hard to carry.

The garden is grown organically and without fuss — no chasing perfect vegetables, just healthy soil, regular pruning, and paying attention to what the plants are asking for. Eggplants, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, okra, cucumbers, beans and tindora make up the everyday harvest, alongside roses, hollyhocks, and jasmine for colour and a bit of quiet beauty in between the vegetable beds.

Festivals find their way into the garden too — from an eco-friendly Ganpati handcrafted from Peepal leaves, garden flowers, and homegrown figs, to whatever the season's harvest inspires in the kitchen.

What the Garden Is About

A few things that guide how it's grown

Organic, no-fuss growing

Healthy soil, regular inspection, and pruning over shortcuts — letting the garden set its own pace.

Harvest to table

What's picked in the morning usually ends up in that evening's meal — beans, gourds, and whatever else is ready.

Imperfect, on purpose

Crooked gourds and a few bug bites included — naturally grown food was never meant to look uniform.

“A productive garden isn't just about growing more. It's about noticing, harvesting, checking, pruning… and keeping up with what the garden is telling you.”
